QA Lab Technician

Kelly is hiring a QA Lab Technician for one of our food manufacturing clients in Clark, NJ

$21-26/hr

2nd shift M-F 2pm-10:30pm

4-5 month contract

Description:Primary Purpose: To evaluate raw materials & finished products for sensory, analytical & GC properties as well as provide support to the quality function in meeting department goals.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Perform sensory, analytical testing (pH, Titration, SG/RI testing, spectrophotometer etc) and / or instrumental evaluation of raw material & finished products following SOP and specifications.

Gas Chromatography (GC) testing on flavor chemical, essential oils & finish products .

Expedite evaluation process and final disposition and provide information to

production & SCE.

Participate in sensory test panels.

Maintain data for shelf life extension reviews for raw materials & finish products.

Follows all quality, safety, and company protocols & procedures.

May perform other duties as required by the department.

Minimum Requirements: Associate / BS Degree in Chemistry, Food science or an applied science Must be able to be exposed to and perform sensory evaluation on a variety of flavorproducts including meat flavors/products. Minimum of 1 year experience working with GC analysis. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge working with Microsoft excel. SAP experience is plusPhysical Requirements: Must be able to be exposed to and perform sensory evaluation on a variety of flavor products including savory/meat products, essential oils and raw materials. Must be able to stand and work at a lab bench for long periods of time.
